It’s IEP Season
If you would like us to come to your meeting/zoom meeting, please let us know. We are committed to working in collaboration with your school team, and may have valuable insights for them.

Spooky Speech!
October is a great month for getting outside. Try a Scavenger Hunt using your target sound:
- E.g. for “k” look for crunchy leaves, pumpkins, cats, cars, ducks, acorns.
- For “s” look for snakes, squirrels, school zones, swings.
Baking is a great way to work on language and executive function skills: Following directions, counting, reading, imitating, describing how things taste and smell, learning action and vocabulary words.
WHILE YOU ARE WAITING…
There is a shortage of trained SLP’s in BC, which means wait lists are an unfortunate reality. We are putting strong efforts into training and recruiting more SLP’s to join our group. We are also putting our creative heads together to come up with group therapy ideas and parent training programs to get as many families in as possible. While you are waiting, we may be able to provide you with activities and resources to get the ball rolling!
Please call if you want some resources while you wait.
We are teachers too!
Speech Language Pathologists are required to complete over 300 hours of practicum experience during their training. Students considering Speech Pathology as a career are encouraged to job shadow and volunteer in community clinics to gain some experience before applying for graduate school. You may meet our student volunteers and SLP graduate practicum students in the clinic. All of our SLP’s are Clinical Educators who volunteer to mentor and teach upcoming SLP’s from across Canada and elsewhere!
LEST WE FORGET
